Rain postpones area action all over
Most of Tuesday's postseason slate was washed out due to rain. The La Porte girls tennis regional matchups featuring La Porte, Penn, South Bend St. Joseph and Valparaiso were moved from Tuesday to today at the LeRoy Courts, starting at 4:30 p.m., with the championship match to be played at 4:30 on Thursday. The Class 4A Chesterton softball sectional games were pushed back to today, starting at 5 p.m. with Portage facing host Chesterton, followed by Michigan City's matchup with Hobart. In the Class A Triton sectional, South Central's game with host Triton will start at roughly 6:30 p.m. in the second of two games today. In the Class A Westville softball sectional, the host Blackhawks will now face Morgan Township today at 5 p.m.
One LP player All-DAC baseball
La Porte's Brock Lipscomb was tabbed to the All-Duneland Athletic Conference Baseball Team as a utility player. DAC-champion Crown Point led the conference with five selections, including Most Valuable Position Player third baseman Christian Mojica and Most Valuable Pitcher Ryan Fender.
Two LP players, one MC player All-DAC softball
La Porte's Shelby Linn and Olivia Zarantonello, and Michigan City’s Katelyn Halfacre were named to the All-Duneland Athletic Conference Softball Team. DAC-champion Lake Central paced the conference with four selections, including MVP Jenna Towle.
Pruzin drills ace, City beats Marquette
Marquette golfer Robert Pruzin drained a hole-in-one from 114 yards out with a pitching wedge on the par-3 fifth hole at Long Beach Country Club during the Blazers' boys golf match with Michigan City on Tuesday, but the Wolves came out on top with a 178-187 victory. Nick Gushrowski paced the Wolves with a 39 to earn medalist honors with Jack Attar shooting a 43. Pruzin led the charge for the Blazers with a 43, while teammate Michael Sakich shot a 47.
S.C. wraps up regular season with win
Carson Husmann blasted his 12th and 13th home runs and Trent Smoker added a long ball as South Central (18-6) ended its baseball regular season with a 14-6 win over Knox. Kyle Schmack doubled twice and Todd Snyder (3-0) picked up the win, working five innings.

NP baseball loses finale to Munster
In the regular-season finale for the Cougars, Roman Kuntz and Jacob Dockery both had two hits and Jarrod Michael had a pair of RBI to lead the offense, but Munster came out on top, 5-3, on Monday in Munster. J.C. Turley threw four innings, giving up two earned runs while striking out five. Tournament play for N.P. (22-6) will begin Thursday against John Glenn in the first round of the Mishawaka Marian Sectional at about 6:30 p.m.
LP boys golf posts 5th in DAC Meet
La Porte’s boys golf team placed fifth in the Duneland Athletic Conference Meet (371) on Monday at The Brassie. It’s the Slicers’ best DAC finish in four years. Max Holmes led La Porte with 82, and Graham Siefker shot 95. Jackson Cizewski and Cas Pulaski each had 97.
Slicers softball drops pair
La Porte’s softball team fell 5-3 to Northridge and lost 14-4 to Carroll (Fort Wayne) at Carroll on Saturday.
