Richard “Rick” Scott English, 51, of New Buffalo, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday. June 26, 2019. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, Michigan.
Rick was born on Dec. 3, 1967, in Bellflower, California, to Richard Alan and Mary Elizabeth “Pat” (Conlin) English. On Jan. 28, 1995, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Kari Ann Biggerstaff. Rick received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University and was a sales engineer with NY Blower in La Porte, Indiana. He was an artisan, craftsman and very creative; he enjoyed the outdoors — especially camping, kayaking, and snowmobiling; but most of all he loved his family – his wife and children and his canine companion Audrey.
Rick is survived by his wife, Kari; children, Kamren English of Michigan City, Indiana, and Riley English of New Buffalo, Michigan,; his mother, Pat English of New Buffalo; sister, Kristina (Paul) Smith of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Alan English, in 1995.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sat. June 29, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. A Celebration of Rick’s Life is at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
