Louis Wayne Solner, 75, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at 9:10 p.m. in his home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
He was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Dewey and Nora Ruth (Pierson) Solner.
Surviving are two sons, Mitchell Solner of South Carolina and Patrick (Jeana) Solner of La Porte, Indiana; grandchildren, Alexus Solner, Elijah Solner and Alyssa Solner; and two brothers, Kenneth Solner of Michigan City, Indiana, and Rodney Solner of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Wayne was a Supervisor at McDonald's, a carrier for the Michigan City News-Dispatch, and also had retired from Papa John's Pizza where he was known as the "Pizza Guy." He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 23 and enjoyed attending auctions, playing sudoku, and Tuesday movie night with his family. He was known as Papa Wayne to many people and being very generous.
