John Crittendon Jr.

John Crittendon Jr. was born on Feb. 13, 1955, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to John Crittendon Sr., and Elizabeth Jean Crittendon.

The Crittendon family relocated to Michigan City, Indiana, in 1963 where John received his formal education. It is here where he met the love of his life, Janis Crittendon. After their union, they planted their roots in Kingsford Heights, Indiana. This is where he resided until he was called to his new heavenly home.

To know John was to love him! He would give you the shirt off his back and would do anything for his family, friends and neighbors. He worked at Josam Manufacturing, he also had a long career at Howmet Corporation and was remembered by his many coworkers as a hardworking man that took pride in his work.

John's favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and camping. This is something he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed just hanging out and spending time with them at large family gatherings.

After making his transition on April 20, 2018, he leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Janis (Mason) Crittendon; six sons, John Phillip (Brandi) Charles, Carl (Ashley), Larry (Puanani), Steven, Anthony (Delana) and two bonus sons, Javadis (Jennifer) Beaty and Matthew (Sabrina) Wedow, Harlan Stacy, and Anthony McCarty; two daughters, Jerri of La Porte, Indiana and Kamika of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Stevie (Sharron) Crittendon, Anthony (Deborah) Crittendon and Gregory (Margaret) Crittendon of Chesapeake, Virginia; two sisters, Beverly (Larry) Phillips and Libby Crittendon; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also was cherished by his father-in-love, Linton (Rose) Hawkins, and as siblings, Michael Sherman (Lonnette) Phillips, Lee (Christel) Holley both of Michigan City, Indiana, and Jerry Taylor of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tim Frye of California; two uncles, James (Ann) Crittendon of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Lil Curtis Mann of Dyresburg, Tennessee; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
