Rotary present Alinsky Award to Cyndi Davis

The Michigan City Rotary Club on Thursday presented Cyndi Davis with its Paul J. Alinsky Excellence Award. From left are Rotary president Jessica O’Brien; Davis; Marty Corley, co-chair of the Alinsky Award Committee; and Jim Alinsky, brother of the award’s late namesake. O’Brien said Davis, executive director of the North Central Community Action Agency, “is someone who works hard to meet the needs of this community in a variety of ways – all while showing the excellence, innovation and service above self we, as a club, have come to associate with the award.” Paul Alinsky was a past Rotary president, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and founder of Sentinel Alarm Company. The award is given annually to a Michigan City resident who exhibits dedication to community service and excellence, and passion and innovation in their vocation / career, O’Brien said. The award included a $500 donation to NCCAA.
