MICHIGAN CITY — Twelve Drum Corps International Open Class competitors will take the field tonight for the finals of the 2013 championships at Ames Field.

The 12 finalists are: 7th Regiment from New London, Conn., Blue Devils B from Concord, Calif., Colt Cadets from Dubuque, Iowa, Genesis from Edinburg, Texas, Gold from Oceanside, Calif., Legends from Kalamazoo, Mich., Les Stentors from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Music City from Nashville, Tenn., Raiders from Burlington, N.J., Spartans from Nashua, N.H., Taipei Yuehfu from Taipei City, Taiwan and the Vanguard Cadets from Santa Clara, Calif.

The groups are judged on an individual level, focusing on the performance of each corps member, specifically evaluated on marching, music and color guard.

Each is then judged on general effect and how they present their show on the field.

The two teams that were not selected for the finals, the Racine Scouts from Racine, Wis. and Blue Saints, from Sudbury, Ontario, will still participate tonight, performing exhibitions for the audience.

Tickets for the finals are available tonight beginning at 5 p.m. at the Ames Field box office, with the finals beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for reserved seating and $15 for general admission.
