La PORTE —CVS officials are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who stole prescription medications from a downtown La Porte pharmacy on Wednesday afternoon.
La Porte Police on Friday released surveillance video images of the suspect, who they say drove away after robbing the CVS at 1407 Lincoln Way.
Police were called to the store just after 5 p.m. about an armed robbery, but the suspect had already fled the store by the time officers arrived.
He was described only as an “older white male,” between 50 to 70 years old, wearing blue jeans, a blue T-shirt bearing a state of Indiana logo, with a gray shirt over it; white sneakers, a camouflage cap and sunglasses.
An employee told police the man came to the pharmacy counter and demanded prescription medications by using a note and implying he had a weapon.
The note contained a list of several pills the man wanted, including Norco, Valium and Adderall, according to CVS.
The pharmacist complied and the subject exited the store and drove away in an unknown direction in a white vehicle, police said. No one was hurt during the incident.
Along with the surveillance photos, a video of the suspect can be seen by clicking on the link on the La Porte Police Facebook page.
