Adonias E. Landaverde Melara, 21, of Michigan City, was preliminarily charged with operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license, a C misdemeanor. According to police, he caused $5,000 in damages to the rear left corner of a 2008 Cadillac.
Richard Michael Topalski, 69, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with invasion of privacy, a Level 6 felony.
Battery resulting in moderate bodily injury was reported in the 1300 block of Pine Street at 10:17 p.m.
Walmart reported a case of theft at 6:06 p.m.
A 55-year-old woman reported a case of theft in the 700 block of Franklin Street at 1:21 p.m.
Dairy Queen reported the receipt of counterfeit bills at 12:26 p.m.
A case of theft and criminal trespass was reported in the 2400 block of Delplaine Avenue at 10:42 p.m.
Samantha Jo Ravenscroft, 28, of Westville was preliminarily charged with possession of a controlled substance, an A misdemeanor.
A 59-year-old woman reported a case of theft in the 1800 block of Michigan Boulevard at 5:57 p.m.
Grover Jason Umphryes, 29, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with battery against a public safety official, a Level 6 felony, confinement, a Level 6 felony, interference in the reporting of a crime, an A misdemeanor, resisting law enforcement, an A misdemeanor, criminal mischief, and domestic battery, a Level 6 felony. Victims included two police officers and a 19-year-old woman.
The front passenger side window of a vehicle was found shattered in the 4000 block of Franklin Street at 3:56 p.m. The cost of damages was estimated at $450.
