FRIDAY

Officers were forced to kick down a door in order to administer emergency help at a residence in the 1100 block of Hoyt Street at 6:01 a.m.

Breon Elewood Howard, 22, of Michigan City was arrested on an active warrant out of La Porte County for carrying a handgun without a permit, an A misdemeanor.

Demetrius C. Taylor, 41, of Michigan City was arrested on a body attachment warrant.

THURSDAY

Burglary was reported at Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets.

Invasion of privacy involving a woman contacting her ex-boyfriend was reported in the 400 block of Lincoln

Two store employees and a regular customer were implicated in a theft of more than $1,500 worth of merchandise at Ulta.

Three TVs were reported stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of Pinetree Court.

A patient at Franciscan Health Michigan City said she was battered by her boyfriend while they were in a car in Porter County.

Theft was reported at Franciscan Health Michigan City by a patient who said her boyfriend kept $200 of the $740 she gave him to wire on her behalf.

A license plate was reported stolen from a Chrysler Town & Country van.

A 2013 Hyundai Elantra was reported stolen from the parking lot at Woodland Estates.

$200 was reported stolen from an apartment in the 3200 block of Salem Court.

Knapp Elementary reported the finding of a knife on the school playground at 10:30 a.m.

A resident in the 2400 block of Salem Court reported a broken window.

Horizon Bank reported the receipt of forged checks by someone purporting to be the account holder. The account did not have enough funds to honor the checks, but the returned checks cost the bank a total of $334 in fees.

Kabelin Hardware and Rental reported a bad check accepted by the business.

Officers responded to Keys of Hope in regard to a suspect threatening to stab people. The man was later apprehended in his vehicle and found with a knife. He was transported to Franciscan Health Michigan City for emergency detention after he walked out in front of traffic. He also threatened to go back to the center and kill people.

Several items including an iPhone 7, headphones, shoulder purse and social security card were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of W. 10th Street.
