Public Records Commission to meet
La PORTE – The La Porte County Commission on Public Records will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Meeting Room 2 of the La Porte County Complex at 809 State St. in La Porte. The purpose of the meeting is to consider disposition, transfer and destruction of public records from all county public officials, as well as a proposed retention schedule for county financial records.
Port Authority Board to discuss projects
MICHIGAN CITY – The Michigan City Port Authority Board of Directors will meet on Monday, July 1, at 5 p.m. in the Boardroom at 200 Heisman Harbor Dr. The agenda will include updates on the Bath House and Dock Re-decking projects.
Police commission meetings Monday
MICHIGAN CITY – The Police Civil Service Commission will meet in closed session at 8 a.m. Monday at the Michigan City Police Station, 1201 E. Michigan Blvd. A special meeting will follow at 8:20 a.m. to discuss the findings from the Executive Session.
Lunch & Learn program for caregivers
MICHIGAN CITY — REAL Services will host a free Lunch & Learn series of educational programs for caregivers of older adults at Rittenhouse Village at Michigan City, 4300 Cleveland Ave. The programs allow busy caregivers to learn about relevant topics and network with fellow caregivers. Topics will be Fitness & Nutrition on July 2; Memory Loss on Aug. 6; and Navigating Medicare Part D and Insurance on Oct. 1. All programs start at noon. Warren to address Women in Leadership
La PORTE – Women in Leadership of La Porte County will feature Dr. Kimberlie Warren, PhD, MPA, organizational effectiveness consultant, who will speak on “Resilience: A Building Block for Positive Well-Being.” The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. July 9 at Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center, 444 Pine Lake Ave. in La Porte.
Warren conducts and facilitates trainings, fulfills the roles of coach and mentor, and assists associates with professional, personal and skill development for positive progression and multi-dimensional well-being. With a diverse background in allied health and leadership, she applies her knowledge to various professional and volunteer activities, including as a certified facilitator for HeartMath and Listening Pays, as well as a certified Caritas Coach and cancer research patient advocate for Susan G. Komen and the American Association for Cancer Research. WILL meetings are open to the public, and reservations can be made on its Facebook page or website at women-in-leadership.com.
