MONDAY

A firearm reportedly was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck parked in the 1500 block of Washington Street sometime between midnight and 4:30 a..m.

Micah A. Garrett, 24, of Michigan City was cited for driving without ever having received a license in the 1000 block of Wabash Street around 11:30 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a theft call at the Tommy Hilfiger store at Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets around 4:45 p.m.

A wallet and cell phone reportedly were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3200 block of Salem Court between 9 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday.

SUNDAY

A 19-year-old male reportedly was battered in a dispute over game console power cords in the 3000 block of Springland Avenue around 10 p.m.

Jeffrey Michael Jurczak, 27, of New Carlisle, Indiana, was arrested at Blue Chip Casino at 1:34 a.m. on charges of battery, resisting law enforcement and criminal mischief.

Police responded to a domestic battery call in the 100 block of Columbia Street shortly after 3 a.m.

Richard Allison Bennett, 51, of Michigan City was arrested around 3 p.m. at Washington Park on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident as a class B misdemeanor.

River Jackson Shearer, 18, of Columbia City, Indiana, was arrested on a theft charge at the Calvin Klein store at Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets at 3:28 p.m.

A MCPD K9 officer was called to assist the Indiana State Police with a free air sniff near the intersection of Barker Avenue and York Street at 3:22 p.m. The dog located various pills, vials of fluid and syringes in the vehicle.

Two men, ages 25 and 30, reportedly were asked to leave the Michigan City municipal golf course after driving their golf carts recklessly through sand traps, stealing flags and putting a gash in the putting green of one hole.

Debra Lynn Gollnick, 54, of Michigan City was arrested on a public intoxication charge at 9:27 p.m. near the intersection of 10th and Franklin streets.

Shannon Clark Kirkland, 45, of Michigan City, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated near the intersection of U.S. 20 and Franklin Street around 10 p.m.

SATURDAY

A Dewalt drill reportedly was stolen from the porch of a residence in the 1800 block of Elston Street sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 3 and 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The center console of a doorless Jeep parked in the 2300 block of Normandy drive reportedly was damaged sometime between 10 p.m. on Aug. 3 and 12:25 p.m. Saturday.

Anika Antionette Cooper, 21, of Michigan City was arrested on a theft charge at Meijer around 3 p.m.

Andrew Alan Steffen, 20, of Michigan City, was arrested on a La Porte County warrant for Level 6 felony theft and for an ABC violation at 6:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Spring Street.

A woman reported her 16-year-old son as a runaway Saturday after he left home without permission at 3 p.m. on Aug. 3 and did not return her phone calls.

Police were dispatched to a robbery call in the 2200 block of Normandy Drive at 10:36 p.m.

AUG. 3

Nichol Lynn Eggers, 31, of La Porte, was cited for driving while suspended shortly before 1 p.m. in the 2400 block of East Michigan Boulevard.

AUG. 2

A purse and handgun reportedly were stolen from a bedroom closet in the 3200 block of Salem Court between 3 and 5 p.m.

AUG. 1

Tyrell M. Harper, 23, of Michigan City was arrested at the Canterbury Apartments at 3:24 p.m. on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident, a class A misdemeanor.

Police responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 200 block of Hoyt Street around 3 a.m.

JULY 28

A man reportedly stole multiple steaks and beers by stuffing them down his pants before exiting the Al's Supermarket on Franklin Street.
