THURSDAY

City Police assisted in the removal of an individual at Blue Chip Casino who had been placed under arrest by Indiana Gaming Police for trespassing and resisting law enforcement. When confronted by police, the suspect allegedly said he needed drops for his eyes so he can hear because someone threw a bug at him and it crawled into his ears.

A man reported that his identity was stolen after he provided personal information to a phishing website.

Naturally Wood Furniture reported that someone fraudulently purchased $7,000 in furniture and used a U-Haul truck to transport it themselves, rather than the store's free same-day shipping.

A man walking his dog found a wallet in the area of Hendricks and Cherry streets.

WEDNESDAY

A broken window was reported at a house in the 5800 block of Franklin Street.

Jeremy Alan Marcotte, 36, of Porter was charged with theft, a Level 6 felony, after allegedly stealing $227.29 in merchandise from Al's Supermarket.

A 13-year-old girl was charged with leaving home without permission in the 900 block of W. 10th Street.

Christopher M. Galvan, 29, of Michigan City was arrested for parole violation, as well as possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of a synthetic drug or synthetic drug lookalike substance, an A misdemeanor.

Johnathan Molthen-Peterson, 19, of New Buffalo, Michigan, was arrested on an A misdemeeanor charge of theft for allegedly stealing two pairs of sunglasses and a sweatshirt.

A woman reported being punched in the face and receiving a bloody lip from her boyfriend in Washington Park at 7 p.m.

Keith Duane English, 44, of Michigan City was charged with driving while suspended, an A misdemeanor.

TUESDAY

Animal Control retrieved a male hound dog found wandering in the playground at Knapp Elementary School. The animal did not have a microchip or tag identifying his owner.

Three feral cats were trapped in the 800 block of Madison Street and transported to Fried's Cat Shelter.

OCT. 8

A woman claimed that a man staying with her in the 3400 block of Salem Court pushed her down and punched her three times in the face after she attempted to remove the licence plate from his car.

Police responded to a fight in progress involving several juveniles in the 100 block of S. Porter Street at 11:14 p.m.

OCT. 5

Animal Control apprehended a male Yorshire terrier found wandering in the 900 block of W. 8th St. The animal did not have a microchip or tag identifying his owner.

A male pitbull was dropped off at the city's outdoor kennel.

OCT. 3

A male cat with blue eyes was dropped off at the Humane Society.

Animal Control rescued a feral mother cat and her litter of kittens from a backyard in the 300 block of Earl. A young gray cat also found on the premises was later euthanized. It was reportedly sick and not responding to treatment.
