Animal control retrieved a husky at Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets and placed it in the city kennel. No microchips or identification was found on the animal.

A wallet was found in the 600 block of Warnke Road at 7:26 a.m.

Theft totaling more than $2,300 was reported at Menards, 5260 S. Franklin Street.

A 14-year-old offender reportedly escaped from the La Porte County Juvenile Detention Center at 9 a.m. following a court hearing. Her tampered GPS monitor was later found in a trash bin in the 200 block of Poplar Street.

A woman reported the plastic case holding her credit cards was stolen out of her purse while she was shopping. Unauthorized transactions totaling $1,176.67 were later made from those cards.

A wallet was reportedly found in the Moose Lodge parking lot.

Five bottles Goose Island IPA Citrus Beer were reportedly stolen from Walgreens at 1816 Franklin St. The suspect reportedly removed the bottles from a six pack and stuffed them down his pants and fled north on Pine Street. 

Criminal mischief involving a woman hitting the windshield of her ex-boyfriend's car with a baseball bat was reported in the 1800 block of Manhattan at 1 p.m.

Cary Arnold, 18, of La Porte was charged with resisting arrest, an A misdemeanor, at 4 p.m.

A man reported that someone stole items from the apartment he was renting in the 100 block of Hendricks Steet while he was incarcerated in the La Porte County Jail. The stolen items included a smart TV, an LG prepaid cellular phone and a pair of of Air Jordan Retro shoes.

A bottle of liquor was stolen from the 1500 block of E. Michigan Boulevard.

Two juveniles reportedly stole $200 from a woman's home in the 100 block of E. Michigan Boulevard after they told her they were hungry and she invited them in for food.


A deposit bag containing more than $250 was reportedly stolen from the Hair Cuttery at 12:30 p.m.

Police received multiple reports from a woman who claimed several people needed to go to jail for smoking embalming fluid.
