Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 700 block of E 11th Street involving the girlfriend of the homeowner getting into a physical altercation with the homeowner's son. A probable cause affidavit was also signed for an A misdemeanor charge of battery.
A large black and white dog was found in the 3200 block of Tilden Avenue and transported to the City Kennels. The dog had a microchip, but it had not been registered by the owner.
Meijer Loss Prevention reported the receipt of $600 worth of counterfeit bills all in the same day, purportedly all by the same couple during six different transactions, using six different $100 bills.
A resident in the 100 block of Tulip Tree Drive reported the theft of a Singer ironing press worth $356.29 that was reportedly delivered to her hope by UPS, but not there when she arrived.
Meijer reported a subject who came into the store and stole alcohol and covered it with other merchandise items, namely rolls of toilet paper. The stolen items included 3 Kettle One Vodka 1.75 liter, $32.99 each — $98.97; 3 Jack Daniel's old 7 Black Whiskey 750ML, $24.99 each — $74.97; 1 Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey 1.75L, $51.99; 1 1800 Silver Tequila 1.75LT, $37.99;1 Jim Beam White Label Bourbon 1.75LT, $29.99; 3 Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey 750ML, $26.99 each — $80.97; 1 Home Logic Hamper, $9.99; 2 Meijer Ultra Soft Bath Tissue, $5.99 each — $11.98. Total stolen merchandise: $396.85.
A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend, and father of her child, stole her phone and left the house in the 1300 block of Elston.
Police are investigating the theft of $1,140 from a woman with dementia in a nursing home. The amount was reportedly the totality of her Social Security check. The theft was reportedly done by a tenant staying in the woman's house.
Jabbor Allen Ahmed, 25, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with driving while suspended, an A misdemeanor.
