A man reported that someone entered his company vehicle (SEI Industrial Solutions) in the 200 block of E. Homer and took approximately $2,000 worth of items. The doors were locked, but the rear driver side window was slightly lowered down and someone was able to unlock the vehicle. Stolen items included six Toxi Pro Carbon Monoxide Meters, worth approximately $325 apiece.
Beth Renee Herron, 36, of Michigan City was arrested on a warrant out of Porter County for failure to appear for false informing, a B misdemeanor, and a warrant out of Lake County for prostitution. She was reportedly located hiding in the crawlspace of a home in the 6400 block of N. Meer Road.
Michael J. Miner, 43, of Michigan City was arrested for several warrants out of Michigan.
Several items, including a purse, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of E. 11th Street. Everything, minus $140 from the wallet inside the purse, was eventually found lying on the porch of one of the residences.
Armed robbery was reported on E. 10th Street.
Anthony Jerome Gipson, 33, of South Bunker Hill, Indiana, was arrested for aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony, disorderly conduct, a B misdemeanor, and resisting law enforcement, an A misdemeanor, at 10:30 p.m.
A debit card was found in the mail box in the 3400 block of Franklin Street.
Sevick Gardens reported someone smashed four pumpkins outside on display at their store.
A woman reported a possible abduction attempt on her daughter at Washington Park Lot 1. She said a man pulled up in a white SUV, either a Yukon or Suburban, and spoke to her daughter, who ran away. The daughter said a dog cage was in the back of the vehicle and there was a brown and white pit bull, boxer mix, in the vehicle. The man also asked the daughter to come over, but she ran away instead.
