A case of shoplifting was reported at Dunes Plaza at 2:44 p.m.

Gary O. Burnham, 64, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with battery, a B misdemeanor

Theft was reported in the 2800 block of N. U.S. 421.

Matthew Aaron Coyer, 39, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with theft, a Level 6 felony, for allegedly shoplifting at Charley's Eastside Liquor.

Larry Bernard Phillips, 62, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with trespassing, an A misdemeanor, in the 100 block of Merrihill Drive.

Police are investigating a case of battery on W. 10th Street.

Police are investigating a case of battery between two men in the 900 block of E. Michigan Boulevard.

Floyd Doshie, 36, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license, a C misdemeanor.

Nicholas Martin Stone, 28, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with criminal trespass, an A misdemeanor.

Five juveniles, including three girls and two boys, ranging in age from 13 to 16, were arrested for resisting law enforcement, an A misdemenaor, criminal trespass, an A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a B misdemeanor, in the 1700 block of E. Barker Avenue at 9:45 p.m.

MAY 28

Cora B. Birch, 33, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with criminal mischief, an A misdemeanor, for allegedly denting a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. The damages were valued at $750.
