WEDNESDAY

Credit card fraud involving the use of a stolen credit card at King's Inn totaling $63.83 is being investigated by police.

Lighthouse Liquors reported a theft of a bottle of Gray Goose vodka valued at $52.99.

 

TUESDAY

A 1999 Honda Civic was reported stolen in the 100 block of W. Fulton Street.

Police responded to a civil dispute involving a woman who claimed a car dealership in La Porte wouldn't return her money. She said she paid $600 for a down payment on a used car, but when she returned the vehicle, they only refunded $500 of it.

A 14-year-old runaway was arrested in the 700 block of W. 4th Street.

SUNDAY

Police are investigating the case of a 5-year-old who reportedly received a "whooping" with a belt while playing with a ball in a man's house. Officers later observed several welts on her body.

Jason Lee Steele, 18, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.

A woman reportedly came back to a home in disarray after a night of bar hopping in the 700 block of Hobart Street.

A Cadillac STS was reportedly damaged by a shopping cart which allegedly struck the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.

A $300 AT&T gift card and a DVD player were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Pine Tree Court.

SATURDAY

Natasha Nichole Akins, 31, of Michigan City, and Mark S. Roberts, 32, of La Porte were preliminarily charged with theft, a Level 6 felony, for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart.

Sugar was reportedly poured inside the gas tank of a vehicle in the 1000 block of Elston Street. 

Meijer reported the theft of three bottles of Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey valued at $26.99 each - $80.97 total, and four bottles of Jack Daniels Single Barrel Whiskey valued at $57.99 each - $231.96 total.

Michael Cornell Robinson, 18, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with possession of marijuana, a B misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a C misdemeanor.

Family Express turned an envelope into police found lying in the parking lot. Police later determined it was addressed to a registered sex offender.

Blue Chip Casino reported finding a firearm left behind in one of its hotel rooms.

FEB. 22

A man suspects his son of stealing his iPad and 1 carat diamond ring.

A woman reported that her daughter's bookbag, containing a Michigan City High School Chrome book, was taken from their vehicle sometime between Feb. 21 at approximately 4:30 p.m. and Feb. 22 at 7 a.m.

FEB. 21

Jackie Jones, 35, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with criminal mischief, a B misdemeanor, after allegedly stabbing a man's couch with a kitchen knife then puncturing the front passenger side tire of his truck with the same knife.

FEB. 20

Jackie Jones, 35, of Michigan City was preliminarily charged with battery, an A misdemeanor, after allegedly grabbing a knife, then slapping and scratching a man with her other hand.
