CVS in La Porte robbed for drugs
La PORTE – La Porte Police are looking for a man who robbed a CVS pharmacy of prescription medications Wednesday afternoon by implying he had a weapon.
Police were called just after 5 p.m. about an armed robbery at the CVS Pharmacy at 1407 Lincoln Way in La Porte, but arrived to find the suspect had already fled the store. He was described only as an "older white male," between 50 to 70 years old.
An employee told police the man came to the pharmacy counter and demanded prescription medications by using a note and implying he had a handgun. The note contained a list of several medications, though police officials did not disclose what items the list contained.
After getting the medications, he ran out of the store and drove away in an unknown direction in a white vehicle, police said. No one was hurt during the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 219-362-9446 and speak to Det. Sgt. Brett Airy or Det. Vincent Bowman.
