Michigan City student graduates from University of Wisconsin-Stout
MENOMONIE, Wis. — MacKenzie Nicholson of Michigan City, and a Wheaton North High School graduate, graduated with a B.S. Food Science and Technology degree in May 2019 from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
UW-Stout, Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, has 50 undergraduate majors and 21 graduate programs, including one doctoral degree. UW-Stout, established in 1891, prides itself on the success of its students in the workplace, with an employment rate at or above 98 percent for recent graduates. The university was awarded the Malcolm Balridge National Quality Award in 2001.
Enrollment for the fall semester was 8,748.
UW-Stout is Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, with a focus on applied learning, collaboration with business and industry, and career outcomes.
Local students make Carthage College dean's list
KENOSHA, Wis. — More than 900 students have been named to the Carthage College dean's list for the spring 2019 semester, including Jordyn Bloode of New Carlisle and Taylor Clark of Westville.
Carthag is a private institution that enrolls about 2,800 students.
Abigail Pilecki named to University of Iowa Spring 2019 Dean's List
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Abigail Pilecki, a University of Iowa student from La Porte, studying in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was named to the UI's Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester.
Undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, and the Tippie College of Business who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded course work during a given semester or summer session and who have no semester hours of I (incomplete) or O (no grade reported) during the same semester are recognized by inclusion on the Dean's List for that semester.
University of Iowa celebrates 2019 spring graduates
IOWA CITY, Iowa — More than 4,800 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at the University of Iowa recently participated in graduation ceremonies.
The UI's spring 2019 graduates had an average cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.16 on a 4.0 scale. In addition, 16 percent of the graduating class graduated with multiple majors and 355 undergraduates graduated with honors.

Bret Badman named to Chancellors List at UMN Crookston
CROOKSTON, Minn. — Bret Badman of Westville, majoring in Manufacturing Management and Quality Management, was named to the spring semester 2019 Chancellors List at the University of Minnesota Crookston. The U of M Crookston is a career-oriented, technology-based university.
To qualify for a place on the Chancellors List, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded (A-F) credits while attaining a 4.00 grade point average.
