MICHIGAN CITY — The Footlight Players will hold their 13th annual Awards Dinner on July 20 at the Moose Family Center 980 at 1108 Franklin Street in Michigan City.

The cost of admission is $15 each if you have a paid reservation received no later than July 5. Any reservations made after or at the door is $20. Reservations are recommended due to limited seating. The ticket price offers you a cocktail hour starting from 5 p.m. with a full stocked cash-bar with drinks at reasonable prices. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., and consists of fried chicken, bone in ham, sausage and sauerkraut, California-mix vegetables, potatoes, salad and bread and butter. Two cakes will also be available for dessert.

At 7:30 p.m. the Awards Program will begin with the introduction of Footlight’s very own “man-about-town” Joe Blanchard. The first award of the evening will be inducting Marsha Markle into the Footlight Hall of Fame. According to a press release from The Footlight Players, the officers and Board of Directors are proud to present this honor to this hard-working, loyal member. Then Footlight Theatre Award winners are announced for 15 theatrical related categories. The evening will also highlight five musical selections from some of the cast members and the Hidden Talent Awards that are voted on by the casts and directors go to those behind-the-scene workers, who rarely get any recognition.

Between 5:30 p.m. and the beginning of Act II, a silent auction is held with a huge amount of gift-cards and art objects and jewelry. The closing of the event comes when President Robert W. Komendera presents the prestigious President’s Award.

The best way to make your reservations is to go online at www.footlightplayers.org, or you can mail in a request for us to hold your tickets at the door including your name, number in your party, address, and phone number along with a check or money order to Footlight Players P.O. Box 46, Michigan City, IN 46361. Credit cards are not accepted at this time. You will be notified within two days of receiving your payment by a Footlight representative. The Moose Lodge is located at 1108 Franklin Street in Michigan City. This program is well attended and due to the quantity of food needed, early reservations are strongly recommended. If you need any other information on this or other Footlight matters please call the box-office at (219) 874-4035 and leave a message or go online at www.footlightplayers.org.
