FRANCISCAN HEALTH CELEBRATES WITH CANCER SURVIVORS

Photo courtesy Franciscan HealthMore than 500 cancer survivors, who were treated at Franciscan Health’s Michigan City, Crown Point, Dyer, Hammond and Munster  campuses took part in a National Cancer Survivors Day event, sponsored by Franciscan Health, at a recent Gary SouthShore Railcats game. Franciscan Health provided the tickets, free refreshments and other giveaways. Sister Aline Shultz, chief operating officer at the Dyer and Munster hospitals; and Dr. Robert Prock, medical director of radiation oncology, threw out ceremonial first pitches. Cindy Duran, oncology center director, and Dr. Prock were also interviewed on Railcats radio by broadcaster Jared Shlensky in the second inning, discussing the soon-to-be-open Franciscan Health Munster Cancer Center.
