'Grand Night for Singing' coming to Footlight

MICHIGAN CITY — An evening of showtunes featuring many of the community’s most accomplished singers will be coming to the Footlight Players' Spring Concert, "It's a Grand Night for Singing."

The program, compiled and directed by Lee and Laura Meyer, will only run on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2. Both performances are at 7:30 p.m. The songs were selected from some of the 75 plus musicals that Footlight has brought to their stages.

Bobby Komendera and Laura Meyer will serve as guides throughout this show  while Lee Meyer will accompany the vocalists on piano. Selections include songs from such popular performances as "Annie Get Your Gun," "Guys and Dolls" and "Oklahoma," as well as lesser known works such as "Milk and Honey" and "I Love You-You're Perfect-Now Change."

The cast includes Candace Archer, Debbie Bartholomew, Alexander Bonner, Howard Brenneman, Frank Casorio, Kathy Chase, Grant Fitch, Alayna Lauritsen, Tom LeDonne, Paulette Lisek, Kenzie Losinski, Kathy Lute Marsha Markle, Val Pudlo, Emmie Reigel and Jan Rice

Ticket prices are $15.00 with a $10 price for children 12 and under. Seasonal gift cards cannot be used for these shows. Tickets can be paid for at the box-office on the show date by cash or check. No credit cards at this time. You must pick up your ticket no later than 15 minutes before curtain to guarantee they remain reserved. Footlight Theatre is located at 1705 Franklin Street in Michigan City. The theater is a small 80 seat space, so reservations are recommended.
