Queen of All Saints Catholic Church invites the public to watch the Superbowl in their Legacy Center on Sunday.

Superbowl Game Night

MICHIGAN CITY — The public is invited to a Superbowl Game Night on Sunday at 5 pm.

The game will be broadcast in the new Legacy Center at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 1719 E. Barker Ave. in Michigan City. The center has large TV screens and comfortable seating in a home-like atmosphere. Guests are requested to bring a dish to share.

Prizes and contests will be part of the fun. Guests are welcome to bring their favorite board game if they don’t plan to watch football, making for an overall fun game night. Please RSVP to or (219) 872-9196 ext. 151. 

Valentine Tea

MICHIGAN CITY — The First United Methodist Church of Michigan City, would like to invite the ladies of the community to the church's 69th annual Valentine Tea.

The event will be held on Feb. 9 at the church located at 121 East 7th St. The program will start at 1 p.m. Devotions will be given by Betty Staples and the entertainment will be by Trilogy and Beverly Griffith.

Following the program participants will enjoy Christian fellowship and refreshments in the church community room. The church is handicap accessible so please use the door on the west side of the building, plan to attend and bring a friend.

The United Methodist Women sponsor this event every year and it is free to everyone. The ladies have been preparing lots of delicious “goodies” for you to enjoy.

Parish Mission

MICHIGAN CITY — Everyone is invited to a Parish Mission at Queen of All Saints Church on Feb. 24, 25, 26 & 27.

Roman Catholic Lay Evangelist John Schweisthal of Good News Ministries is conducting the mission. The event is free and is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs of the Legacy Center, 1719 E. Barker Avenue, Michigan City. A shorter morning mission will be presented on Feb. 25 at 8:30 a.m., on Feb. 26 at 9:30 a.m. and on Feb. 27 at 8:30 a.m.

Organizers say this is a perfect way to prepare for Lent. The theme of the mission is "Our Life of Faith."

Toddlin to Jesus

MICHIGAN CITY — Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1237 E. Coolspring Ave. Michigan City invites parents and their children from birth to age 3 to “Toddlin’ to Jesus,” a free music class for babies and tots on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Children are taught about God’s love through stories, songs, and movement. call 219-872-4419 for more information and to register. The next session begins Feb. 5.

First Church services

MICHIGAN CITY — You, your family and friends are all welcome and invited to attend The First Church of Christ, Scientist Sunday Church and Sunday School Services held at 10 a.m. this Sunday. The Church is located at 510 East Coolspring Ave., Michigan City.

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty....For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;” (Psalms 91:1, 11) is the Golden Text for this Sunday's Bible Lesson-Sermon entitled “Love.”

Come and learn how a better understanding of God, Christ Jesus and the study of Christian Science is able to help heal you of your problems. Hymns of Praise, the Bible Lesson, The Lord's Prayer, a Vocal Solo and other activity will be presented.

Testimonies of Healing are also given at the public Wednesday Evening Meeting held at 7:30 p.m.

As Christian Healing is one of the main points of Christian Science, documented reports of them are available at no cost to anyone who requests them.
