GUILD OF VOLUNTEERS DONATES $90K TO HOSPITAL

The Franciscan Health Michigan City Guild of Volunteers recently donated $90,000, proceeds from various fund-raisers over the past year, to the hospital. The volunteers – called a backbone of the hospital by President/CEO Dean Mazzoni – donate time and efforts to provide money to help support hospital services, but to help patients and their families. One primary source of income is the hospital Gift Shoppe, proceeds from which will be used to purchase two stained glass windows in the new hospital chapel; and a History Wall there. At the check presentation were, from left, Darlene Manuzzi, co-Gift Shoppe treasurer; Kathleen Nicholson, guild recording secretary; Angie Kmiecik, Guild vice president-acting president; Mazzoni; Judi Day, co-Gift Shoppe treasurer; and Jeremiah Mellen, manager of volunteer services and Gift Shoppe.Photo courtesy of Franciscan Health Michigan City
