La PORTE – The Mobile Health Unit of La Porte Hospital will be out in the community throughout August with education on eye health and to provide free blood sugar screenings for diabetes.

A regular eye exam is the best way to protect your eyesight, and an easy precaution to take. Blood sugar levels are directly related to diabetes, and diabetes that goes unchecked can cause vision problems, up to blindness. Come and learn more tips for maintaining proper eye health and blood sugar levels.

August visits by the Mobile Health Unit of La Porte Hospital are:

 

1:30- 3 p.m., Aug. 18, Bailey's Discount Center, 5900 S. Range Rd., North Judson

10-11:30 a.m., Aug. 22, Good Will Industries, 3822 Franklin St., Michigan City

Noon-1:30 p.m., Aug. 23, The Pax Center, 605 Washington St., La Porte

1-2:30 p.m., Aug. 24, Starke Hospital, 102 E Culver Rd., Knox

10-11:30 a.m., Aug. 25, La Porte County Public Library, 904 Indiana Ave., La Porte
