Pleasant Hill anniversary

MICHIGAN CITY — Pleasant Hill M.B. Church will be having their 49th church anniversary on March 10 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Eric Boon of Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church of Gary giving the Word. So come out and celebrate with Pleasant Hill M.B. Church at 717 E. 10th Street, Michigan City, with Pastor James Lane.

 

Fish Fry

WESTVILLE — The Friday Night Fish Fry crew of the Westville United Methodist Church is serving their Friday night Fish Fries March 8 through April 19. Dinner includes your choice of fried or baked pollack or shrimp, or fish/shrimp combo; French fries or baked potato, coleslaw or mac & cheese or apple sauce; and drink for $9 adults, and $8 for Senior Citizen. The church also has a chicken nugget meal for $7. Children’s meal for ages 3-10 is $5 and kids under 3 eat free. Dessert and pop is available at an additional charge. Serving from 4 to 7 p.m.

 

Pork Chop Dinner

MICHIGAN CITY — A pork chop dinner will be held March 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Luke United Lutheran Church, 2000 E Coolspring Ave. Michigan City.

The cost is $10 per person.

Menu: Pork Chops, Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Beans, Applesauce, Rolls and Butter, Lemonade, Water, Coffee, and Desserts (at an additional price)

New Church Rummage Sale

La PORTE — Held at Manna House, 905 Maple Avenue across from the La Porte County Public Library, La Porte New Church will hold its annual spring sale from March 7-9, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday will be half-price day. All items for sale are in very good condition, clean, gently used, and very affordable. The New Church offers this event not only as a fundraiser for the upkeep of its buildings but as a charitable project serving the community.

Offered at the sale are:

• Vintage record albums and toys, and other antiques and collectibles

• Clothing for all ages and sizes, from newborn to women’s plus and men’s tall;casual, and dressy; medical scrubs and professional; shoes, scarves and lingerie

• Lots of things for kids

• Household and linens

• Kitchenware and sets of dishes

• Books, DVD’s and CD’s, and much, much more

The New Church, a welcoming, progressive, and inclusive Christian ministry at 812 Indiana Avenue, holds contemporary and traditional worship services on Sundays at 10 a.m. along with Children’s Sunday School. Event explores meaning of life

MICHIGAN CITY — Where do we come from and where are we going? These questions are decisive for understanding what it means to be human and how to orient our lives and our actions toward authentic fulfillment. Made for More is a national event which aims to answer these questions on a personal level. The event is coming to Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City on March 20 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Join nationally-recognized Catholics Christopher West and Mike Mangione as they creatively weave together dynamic presentations with live music, movie clips, YouTube videos, and sacred art for an evening of beauty and reflection on the meaning of life, love, and human destiny. You will come away with a faith-filled vision of hope that will instill in you the sheer wonder and joy of being alive. People of all faith backgrounds, or none at all, are welcome to attend.

Road to Life services

MICHIGAN CITY — Join Road to Life Church this Sunday as they continue their series on relationships. Relationships are complicated and they don't need to be. You will be learning how to deal with them throughout the "You Drive Me Crazy" series. Kids ages 0-4th grade will have a blast in Kidtown through high energy worship, teaching, games and more throughout their new series, "Crushing It." If you have a child, bring them along to experience it.

Services are at the Michigan City Campus at 7056 W 450 N at 9 & 11 a.m.
