A musical experience featuring the Children's Chorus

The Singing Co. of La Porte County Children’s Chorus will perform A Musical Experience this Friday.

La PORTE — The Singing Co. of La Porte County Children’s Chorus presents A Musical Experience that you will not soon forget. This free, open to the public concert occurs this Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G Street, La Porte. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins promptly at 7 p.m.

Under the direction of Matthew Nelson, A Musical Experience features just under 60 children from La Porte County, as well as 27 local musicians, who provide instrumental accompaniment for the chorus. Musical numbers during the forty-five minute concert include favorites such as Life’s A Happy Song, A Million Dreams, and a selection from Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat featuring soloists from the Children’s Chorus. Local musicians and vocalists, Erin Imer, Tim King, and John Bello, also join the children this year as some of the showcased soloists for A Million Dreams and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The Singing Co. of La Porte County, a newly organized non-profit, offers opportunities for children in the second through eighth grade to develop a love of music and find their voice during weekly rehearsals and performances. During their inaugural 2017/2018 season, the Singing Co.’s Children’s Chorus was invited to perform key selections at the Healthcare Foundation’s Holiday at the POPS concert at the Civic Auditorium and Arts in the Park.
