St. Luke Cookie Walk & Bazaar

MICHIGAN CITY — St. Luke United Lutheran Church will host their 14th annual Cookie Walk and Bazaar Saturday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Luke United Lutheran Church, 2000 E Coolspring Ave. Michigan City. Christmas concert announced

MICHIGAN CITY — St. Andrew’s by the Lake Episcopal Church has host a free Christmas Concert performed by Southern Moonshine Bird Bath Trio from Grayslake, Illinois, on Saturday at 2 p.m.

There will be light deserts and coffee following the performance.

St. Andrews Episcopal Church is located on the corner of U.S. 12 and Moore Road in Michigan City.

 

Christmas Feast

MICHIGAN CITY — New Life Community Church will be hosting its annual Community-wide Christmas Feast on Dec. 14 at noon. The church is located at 111 Dickson St., Michigan City. Everyone is invited to bring their entire family to come dine and fellowship with the church. The menu includes turkey, ham and all the trimmings. The dinner is free and it's New Life Community Church's way of letting the community know it is loved and appreciated.

 

Christmas Cantata at St. Mary

MICHIGAN CITY — A Christmas Cantata, Invitation to a Miracle by Joseph M. Martin, will be performed by the Queen of All Saints Contemporary Choir under the direction of Stephanie Sobecki at St. Mary the Immaculate Conception Church, 400 W. 10th Street, Michigan City, on Dec. 16 at 3:30 p.m.

Joyful sounds abound in this Christmas gift of music. Through poetic narration, scripture passages and creatively arranged carols, the timeless story of the birth of Christ is presented. Gathered around the wonders of Jesus’ birth, this cantata journeys from the miracle of prophecy to the incarnation and proclamation of this significant moment. Admission is free.

 

Advent at Immanuel

MICHIGAN CITY — Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1237 E. Coolspring, will have Wednesday evening Advent services at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12. Dec. 19 will be the Sunday School Children’s Christmas service at 7 p.m. All are welcome to come worship with them as they prepare for the birth of the Savior.

 

First Church service

MICHIGAN CITY — You, your family and friends are all welcome to attend The First Church of Christ, Scientist Sunday Church and Sunday School Services held at 10 a.m. The Church is located at 510 East Coolspring Ave., Michigan City.

"...you are God's garden and God's building.” ( 1 Corinthians 3:9) is the Golden Text for this Sunday's Bible Lesson-Sermon entitled “God the Only Cause and Creator.”

Come and learn how a better understanding of God, Christ Jesus and the study of Christian Science is able to help heal you of your problems. Hymns of Praise, the Bible Lesson, The Lord’s Prayer, a Vocal Solo and other activity will be presented.

Testimonies of Healing are also given at the public Wednesday Evening Meeting held at 7:30 p.m.

As Christian Healing is one of the main points of Christian Science, documented reports of them are available at no cost to anyone who requests them.

First United Methodist Women’s annual Cookie Walk

MICHIGAN CITY — Mark your calendars for the 18th annual Christmas Cookie Walk at the First United Methodist Church of Michigan City to be held Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The ladies of the church have been busy baking their favorite Christmas cookies for you to come and purchase.

You will be able to pick out your own favorite cookies and the cost remains the same as last year at $8 a pound. So come fill a box or two.

Bake sale at Holy Trinity

MICHIGAN CITY — Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 7396 W. Johnson Road, Michigan City, will host a prepaid bake sale Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sale will feature Greek & American pastries & baked goods. There will be a small selection of pastries the day of the event.
