Praise and Psalms

MICHIGAN CITY — At Life Temple COGIC, 3711 W. U.S. 20, Michigan City, will present Praise and Psalms on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. The event includes choirs, soloists, groups, a praise dance, gospel comedy and a new gospel release.


Nurses Anniversary

MICHIGAN CITY — Macedonia M.B. Church, 3007 Ohio St., Michigan City, will be holding the Nurses Anniversary Sunday at 3 p.m. Special guest will be First Baptist Church of Lakeland, Indiana, Michigan City and others. All are welcome.


Harvest Unity Revival

MICHIGAN CITY — Greater Powerhouse C.O.C.I.C., 428 N. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, will host their City-wide Harvest Unity Revival starting Sunday and lasting through Thursday. The Revival starts 7 p.m. Sunday with the Musical event, featuring guest speaker Pastor Jai Reed of New Orleans, and musical guest Leonard Williams of the Williams Brothers of Jackson, Mississippi. The Revival will continue Monday with Pastor Robert Fleming of Life Temple C.O.G.I.C., Tuesday with Pastor Robert Johnson of Pentecostal Temple, Wednesday with Bishop James Atterberry of Benton Harbor, and Thursday with Supt. Dewitt L. Jackson of Revival Center C.O.G.I.C., each presentation starting at 7 p.m.

There will also be workshop classes Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m., and Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. with Bishop Charles Dowdell.

First Church service

MICHIGAN CITY — You, your family and friends are all welcome to attend The First Church of Christ, Scientist Sunday Church and Sunday School Services held at 10 a.m. The Church is located at 510 East Coolspring Ave., Michigan City.

" not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2) is the Golden Text for this Sunday's Bible Lesson-Sermon entitled “Mortals and Immortals.”

Come and learn how a better understanding of God, Christ Jesus and the study of Christian Science is able to help heal you of your problems. Hymns of Praise, the Bible Lesson, The Lord's Prayer, a Vocal Solo and other activity will be presented.

Testimonies of Healing are also given at the public Wednesday Evening Meeting held at 7:30 p.m.

As Christian Healing is one of the main points of Christian Science, documented reports of them are available at no cost to anyone who requests them.

Road to Life services

MICHIGAN CITY — Join Road to Life Church this Sunday as they continue their November series, "Out." Have kids? Bring them along to experience KidTown. Kids ages 0-4th grade are having a blast with their series, "This or That," through high energy worship, teaching, games and more!

All services are currently being held at their Michigan City campus, located at 7056 W 450 N, every Sunday at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. Road to Life also offers a Midweek Service every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and childcare is available.

The youth ministry, The Avenue, meets every Sunday evening at the old bowling alley in Chesterton (behind the police station - 124 N 8th St). Students in grades 5-8 meet from 5:30-7 p.m. & grades 9-12 from 7:30-9 p.m.

Services at their Michigan City campus will also be changing to 9 & 11 a.m. beginning Dec. 2.

Annual free Thanksgiving Dinner

MICHIGAN CITY — Revival Center Church of God, 938 W. 8th St., Michigan City, will host their annual free Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The community is invited and the meal includes turkey and dressing, ham, mac and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, cakes, pies, bottled water, and good fellowship. Thanksgiving at First Church

MICHIGAN CITY — Everyone's invited to attend the Special Thanksgiving Day Service held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Church of Christ, Scientist in Michigan City.

The Thanksgiving Bible Lesson, President Donald Trump's Thanksgiving Message, hymns and expressions of gratitude for God and all He has provided for us that are appropriate for the occasion will be shared by the congregation. No collection will be taken.

Christian Science is a Bible based religion that emphasizes the Divine Spirituality of God, His Son the Messiah, Christ Jesus, and Christian healing work and its’ relevance to all of us in our daily lives.

15th annual Cookie Walk & Craft Fair

WESTVILLE — Westville United Methodist Family Life Center, 154 W Main Street, Westville, will host their 15th annual Cookie Walk & Craft Fair Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

MICHIGAN CITY — St. Andrew's by the Lake Episcopal Church has 2 upcoming events that are open to the public.

• Breakfast with St. Nicholas on Dec. 1 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The event includes food, activities & crafts for children 12 and under

• Free Christmas Concert performed by Southern Moonshine Bird Bath Trio from Grayslake, Illinois, on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.

There will be light deserts and coffee following performance.

First United Methodist Women's annual Cookie Walk

MICHIGAN CITY — Mark your calendars for the 18th annual Christmas Cookie Walk at the First United Methodist Church of Michigan City to be held Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The ladies of the church have been busy baking their favorite Christmas cookies for you to come and purchase.

You will be able to pick out your own favorite cookies and the cost remains the same as last year at $8 a pound. So come fill a box or two.
