Women inspired to live happier, healthier lives

CHESTERTON — A Franciscan Health, Inspiring Women Happy, Healthy Holiday event drew nearly 200 attendees to Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton on Nov. 30.

At the event, women were offered screenings for balance, blood glucose and pressure, bone density, body mass index, foot health and skin cancer, along with entertainment, refreshments and a wealth of information from expert speakers such as William Espar, MD, who discussed heart health for the holiday season.

Pamela Johnson, a holistic health and functional medicine practitioner, discussed ways to feel "fabulous in the new year." Chair massages, information on early heart attack care and stroke awareness, along with CPR, also were available.

Other activities included dancing, door prizes, refreshments and vendors for shopping.
