Open mic event returning to Footlight

MICHIGAN CITY — Footlight Theatre will once again host their Friday at Footlight open-mic night beginning at 7 p.m. June 28.

This month’s featured artists are the multi-talented Crane family. The audiences may remember husband Andy as Mr. Boddy in "Clue," wife Amy as Abby in "Musical of Musicals," son Wil as Julius in The Death and Good Times of Julius Caesar," and daughter Ella as the “oh my goodness orphan" from "Annie." Andy and Amy met while working on a production of "The Fantasticks" at PNC in 1999 and the theater gods led them into a loving and theatrical life together. They are celebrating their 20th anniversary with the Marquette Catholic High School and their theater department. The event is free.

Footlight Theatre is located at 1705 Franklin Street in Michigan City. There are no reservations needed. If you would like to perform that evening there is a $2 charge for a 15 minute spot. Just go online at www.footlightplayers.org and get a registration form. There is always a great array of finger-food and water, coffee and pop available for a small donation.
