Quinn Troy named to dean’s list at Bates College

LEWISTON, Maine — Quinn Troy of Long Beach was named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2019. This is a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.77 or higher.

Troy, the son of Dr. Matthew G. Troy and Dr. Monica L. Lorimer of Long Beach, is a 2018 graduate of Saint Ignatius College Preparatory School. He is a first year at Bates.

Saint Mary’s College names Dean’s List

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The following students have been named to the Saint Mary’s College Dean’s List for the Spring 2019 semester:

Shannon Bhullar, Savannah Jackson, Mary Langford and Rylee Ogle, all of La Porte, and Sarah Majewski of Wanatah.

To earn this academic honor at Saint Mary’s, a student must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have a minimum of 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes, and no grades lower than a C.

DePauw Spring 2019 Dean’s List recipients named

GREENCASTLE, Ind. — The following local DePauw University students were named to the Spring 2019 Dean’s List:

Main campus students graduate from Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. — More than 700 Trine University students earned degrees and were recognized at the university’s Commencement ceremony on May 4.

Area students who graduated from Trine included:

n Gregory Littlejohn of La Porte. Littlejohn majored in Exercise Science at Trine.

n Brian McGuire of La Porte. McGuire majored in Mechanical Engineering at Trine.

n Jacob Payne of La Porte. Payne majored in Criminal Justice at Trine.

n Bo Reed of La Porte. Reed majored in Design Engineering Technology at Trine.

ANGOLA, Ind. — Students from Trine University’s main campus were named to the President’s List for the Spring 2019 term. To earn President’s List honors, main campus students must complete a minimum of 15 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.

Area students named to the President’s List include:

n Nicholas Biegel of Hanna, majoring in Electrical Engineering.

n Emily Bradley of Rolling Prairie, majoring in Forensic Science.

n Camden Doyle of Walkerton, majoring in Exercise Science.

Kelsey Shumaker performs in UF’s Spring Band Concert

FINDLAY, Ohio — Kelsey Shumaker of Union Mills recently performed in a spring band concert with the University of Findlay’s Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. “Through the Narrow Gate - The Road to Salvation” was the theme of the program. Featured works celebrated the human spirit and spirituality with selections including “When Spirits Soar,” “Salvation,” “Into the Storm,” and “Allerseelen” (All Souls Day). The finale, a work by Robert W. Smith entitled “The Divine Comedy,” is a musical interpretation of Dante’s “Inferno.” The performance was directed by Jack Taylor, professor of music.

Kamron Kuta earns President’s List honors at Trine University

ANGOLA, Ind. — Kamron Kuta of Walkerton was one of the students from the College of Graduate and Professional Students at Trine University named to the President’s List for the Spring 2019 term.

Kuta is majoring in Management.

To earn President’s List honors, CGPS students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.

Rebekah Parsons named to Trine University Dean’s List

ANGOLA, Ind. — Rebekah Parsons of Walkerton, a student on Trine University’s main campus, earned Dean’s List recognition for the Spring 2019 term.

Parsons is majoring in Criminal Justice.

To earn Dean’s List honors, main campus students must complete a minimum of 15 hours and have a grade point average of 3.500-3.749.

Lisa Selner graduates from Trine University

ANGOLA, Ind. — Lisa Selner of North Liberty was among students from the College of Graduate and Professional Studies who were awarded a degree during Commencement ceremonies at Trine University on May 4.

Selner earned a Master of Science degree, majoring in Criminal Justice.

More than 700 students were part of the Trine University Class of 2019.
