Country star to bring Xmas to LP

Country star Sara Evans will perform Sunday at the La Porte Civic Auditorium.

La PORTE –  She’s had five No. 1 singles, sold millions of records, and won the Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalist Award for her song, “Born To Fly.”

And on Sunday, she's going to come to La Porte to help the folks of the Bethany Church Foundation give back to the community.

It's all part of Sara Evans' Christmas tour concert at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. The event will start 6:30 p.m. Sunday, and the special concert will benefit the renovation of La Park Playground in La Porte into a free to the community, multi-generational inclusive playground and splash pad for all ages and abilities. All the proceeds will go to this cause.

Special guests for the night will be the Fairground Saints.

Evan's resume includes 14 Top 20 country hits, including such songs as “No Place That Far” (featuring background vocals by Vince Gill), “Suds In The Bucket” and “Slow Me Down.”

She also claimed a Country Music Association trophy for "Born to Fly."

For the concert, the multi-platinum-selling country entertainer will reprise her popular, limited-engagement At Christmas tour. "At Christmas," her first full-length Christmas recording, is a 10-song collection featuring well-known holiday classics including “Silent Night,” “Winter Wonderland,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” plus the seasonal original song and title track, written by Shane Stevens and Toby Lightman.

General admission tickets are $20, with reserved seating starting at $30. Tables are available for $1,000 on the Front Floor and $700 on the Back Floor. Also available is a VIP Meet & Greet experience for $235. It includes a premium reserved seat in the front section, a meet and greet/photo opportunity with Evans, an exclusive Sara Evans mason jar vase and an autogrphed 8×10 photo print.

The La Porte Civic Auditorium is located at 1001 Ridge St, La Porte.
