Q: OK, I might have screwed up, but I recently met a girl on the Internet who turned out to be a "call girl." We have had sex several times and now she wants more money from me every week after we have sex. Can I have her arrested?
A: Huh? You're kidding right? If by "call girl" you mean prostitute, prostitution is a crime, and frequenting a prostitute is also a crime in Indiana.
Q: Can I just get a license to go to car auction and buy cars?
A: The requirement to be a "dealer" to attend an auction is the auctions requirement and not a requirement by the state.
Many auctions are "dealer only" auctions and require a dealer license. There are only two types of dealer licenses in Indiana: retail and wholesale.
To apply for an Indiana retail license you must have a place of business (building, lot, insurance, etc.). An Indiana wholesale license only allows you to sell vehicles you purchase to other dealers.
Q: I went to the Lighthouse Place shopping about a week ago and somewhere while shopping I lost my wallet. I have checked there several times, but with no luck. Does the Michigan City Police Department have a "lost and found" department?
A: I encourage everyone who loses something of value to make a police report of lost property. All found or turned in property is taken into evidence by our officers.
Our department makes every effort to contact the owner if known and possible. All found property not related to a crime is held for 30 days, then the department will dispose of the property if the owner hasn't been established or is unreachable.
Q: I am confused on a yellow roadway sign that has a black "T" on it.
A: Shame on you. You should have learned this in driver's education or when you took your driver's test.
Yellow diagonal signs are informational signs that prepares drivers for specific road conditions or hazards ahead. A black "T" indicates an upcoming intersection and to also use caution as you approach as vehicles may be turning off or pulling onto the roadway.
