MICHIGAN CITY — On June 9, Washington Park Zoo will be bringing back its annual Brew at the Zoo brew fest on the Washington Park lakeshore. Festivities include beer, wine, and cider tasting, live animal interactions, and Live Entertainment.
The event will take place June 9 from 5 to 8 p.m., at Washington Park Zoo, 115 Lake Shore Drive, Michigan City.
Brewers from all over the region will be attending this year, including 1056 Brewing, Burn ‘Em Brewing, Zorn, Shoreline, Misbeehavin’ Meads, Aftermath Cider, Blue Moon, Lagunitas, War Pigs, Greenbush, Revolution and more.
Food will be served within the included ticket price which distinguishes the event from most other brew fests in the area where food is not included with admission. Current vendors include: Arturo’s Baked Goods, Quality Beet, Matey’s Restaurant and Patrick’s Grille.
Live music will be provided courtesy of Hifi2Wifi.
The after party will be at Sunset Grille starting at 8 p.m. Saturday night.
This year’s event also falls on the Zoo’s 90th year anniversary and participants will receive a commemorative tasting glass.
Tickets are available via eventbrite at brewatthewpzoo2018.eventbrite.com
The event usually sells out before opening day so be sure to grab some tickets before they are gone (event is 21 and older).
Tickets are $50 for general admission and $15 for designated drivers
The event is hosted by The Washington Park Zoological Society. Funds received from the fundraiser go toward the vet care of the animals. Each year the Zoo Society provides up to $25,000 to cover all the medical costs for the animals at the zoo which include wellness checks, vaccines, dental work, and emergency care. These fundraisers allow the zoo to give the animals the best care available and enable them to live healthy, happy lives.
